Financial Literacy and Empowerment for High School Students
At United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, we are committed to building stronger, more financially stable communities. As part of this work, we are pleased to announce a new competitive grant opportunity focused on increasing financial literacy among high school individuals in our region. Through this call for proposals, we are inviting organizations from our five-county region (Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, and Westmoreland) to submit project applications that equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.
Programs may include new initiatives or expansions of existing services, and we welcome a variety of formats—including school-based instruction, workshops, peer mentoring, and digital education platforms. Funding requests of all sizes, up to $15,000, are encouraged.
We encourage applications that demonstrate a clear understanding of community needs, engage youth meaningfully, and incorporate strong outcome measurements. Together, we can prepare the next generation for financial success and build a more equitable future across our region!
Applicants must be recipients of United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Welcome Back Summer or Impact Grants or members of the Free Tax Prep Coalition to be eligible.
