Emergency Food Assistance

Due to the government shutdown, 300,000 households won’t get SNAP food assistance on Nov. 3. Legal appeals may delay benefits, causing widespread food insecurity. Give today to support emergency food assistance and our 211 contact center, which has seen dramatic upticks in calls for food.

Impact Grant:

North Hills Community Outreach offers free tax preparation through its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which assists individuals and families in filing accurate tax returns and claiming all credits for which they are eligible. This support helps community members maximize their refunds and maintain financial stability.

This grant helps fund North Hills Community Outreach’s tax assistance programs, supporting two fixed tax sites and four mobile tax clinics in 2024. These services allow residents in Sharpsburg, Hampton and the Gibsonia/West Deer communities of Allegheny County to access free, accurate tax preparation and claim all tax credits for which they qualify.
