Community Food Solutions:

This funding will provide collapsible carts and insulated freezer bags to clients who walk long distances, often in extreme weather, to access food in Pittsburgh’s Spring Garden neighborhood. These tools are essential for older adults, individuals with disabilities and others without transportation that help them safely carry heavy food boxes and keep perishable items fresh. This effort supports the pantry’s mission to reduce food insecurity in a community with limited grocery access and public transit.
