Impact Grant:

Westmoreland Community Action offers free tax preparation through its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which helps individuals and families file accurate tax returns and claim all credits for which they are eligible. By providing this service, the organization supports financial stability and empowers community members to keep more of their hard-earned money.

This grant helps fund Westmoreland Community Action’s VITA program, supporting the operation of five tax sites across Westmoreland County in 2024. With this support, Westmoreland Community Action can continue providing free, accurate tax preparation to help individuals and families maximize refunds and strengthen financial stability.

Impact Grant:

Housing Counseling Money Management Center/VITA provides free comprehensive housing counseling services to current and potential homeowners and tenants. Through one-on-one and group counseling the program assists people in improving their housing conditions and meeting the responsibilities of homeownership or tenancy. VITA also provides tax preparation assistance to individuals and families who are low-income, elderly or have disabilities.
