United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania manages the 211 contact center for 30 counties in Pennsylvania. Our resource navigators are available by phone, text and chat 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. Resource navigators assess the needs of each person and offer connections to more than 7,000 agencies that update their listings with us regularly. Last year, 150,000 people in 30 counties contacted PA 211 Southwest and connected to a real person by phone, text, email or chat for human services referrals. An estimated 459,500 more people searched the PA 211 resource database to connect directly to agencies that can help.  Our 211 contact center also provides connection to services such as Free Tax Prep appointment scheduling and referrals to digital navigators. This provides a wealth of data about the greatest needs in each community, down to the ZIP code. Data is shared in real-time in a public database at the PA 211 state dashboard, which helps United Way anticipate and respond to the changing needs of our community. PA 211 data is available to everyone, including nonprofit staff, government officials and the public, so they can also identify  emerging needs. PA 211 data can be searched and sorted by zip code, county and need. Anyone can see in real time what the greatest needs are in a community. 211 data can also help us predict needs before they become a crisis. 

PA 211 Southwest serves Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland counties in western Pennsylvania and 17 more across the Commonwealth. Data is for fiscal years.
