The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-level current and prospective donors, with a focus on identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding these individuals. The MGO will actively engage with key constituents and prospects, dedicating significant time to fieldwork to build relationships and assess donor capacity. The primary objective is to increase the number of major donors and inspire existing supporters to elevate their giving.
The ideal candidate is an innovative and results-driven fundraising professional who excels at building meaningful relationships and collaborating within a team environment. The MGO will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission by securing transformational gifts and fostering a culture of philanthropy.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of three to five years (direct or equivalent) experience managing high-level donor relationships with demonstrated success in closing gifts of $1,000 and above. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of education.
Annual Salary
Pay Grade 107
Salary Range – $55,500 – $60,000
