Women United donors to host fundraising, social event for United Way

Celebrate to Elevate will feature engagement activities, raffles, food and drink

Who: United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania President & CEO Bobbi Watt Geer, Ph.D.; Women United Co-Chairs Megan Gilson and Tina Morascyzk; Women United donors and their guests.

What: On April 29, United Way’s Women United donor group will host its annual Celebrate to Elevate fundraising event. Sponsored by PNC, PPG, Eat’n Park, Parkhurst Dining, S&T Bank, Eaton, Raymond James, Highmark and Morascyzk & Polochak Attorneys at Law, this uplifting celebration, hosted by Women United for members and their allies, brings the community together to network, socialize and support each other and United Way. Women United members are Leadership Donors, contributing at least $1,000 annually to support United Way and opting in to Women United membership.

Engagement activities at the event will provide attendees with insights into the issues facing women and children in our region and how United Way is working to uplift all. Other event highlights include a selfie-station, basket raffle, food stations and specialty drinks. Raffle baskets feature premier hotel, restaurants, sports and culture packages. Celebrate to Elevate is United Way’s largest fundraising event and generates around $90,000 every year. Single tickets are $120 and are available on the United Way website.

Why: Women United is a powerful philanthropic collective advancing United Way’s community investment priorities. With nearly 2,000 members, United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s is one of the country’s largest Women United donor networks and has raised $142 million dollars since its inception in 2001. Support for United Way is an investment in food security, quality pre-K and out-of-school-time opportunities, access to reliable transportation and child care, free tax preparation for low-income families and much more.
