Impact Grant:

Afterschool Academy – Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh’s Afterschool Academy addresses learning loss and supports the social and emotional well-being of the Bhutanese community. By leveraging strong partnerships with the schools and families while instituting a culturally relevant program, the program provides students the best opportunity to build for success in school and life.


2024

Welcome Back Summer:

BCAP Summer Programming – Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh launched its in-person summer programming, providing seven weeks of BCAP Summer Camp and eight weeks of community sports across neighborhoods in the South Hills. The camp offered immersive, theme-based STEAM learning, academic enrichment, and creative arts activities that supported the holistic development of immigrant and refugee students in grades 1–5. Additionally, the Kindergarten Boot Camp helped rising kindergarteners build the skills and confidence needed to start school ready to learn and succeed.


2023

Falk Facilities and Technology Improvement Fund:

BCAP Communications Equipment – BCAP upgraded its robocall system to support two-way communication, enabling community members to respond to messages, participate in surveys, and engage more actively with program updates and public health information. The funding also allowed BCAP to purchase a camera, which is now used to document and celebrate community events and programs, helping to preserve and share the vibrant stories of the Bhutanese community in Allegheny County.

Welcome Back Summer:

BCAP Summer Programming – BCAP successfully implemented Kamp Kaleidoscope, providing seven weeks of enriching daily programming and eight weeks of community soccer across South Hills neighborhoods for immigrant and refugee students in grades 1–5. The program offered hands-on STEAM activities, physical play, team building, nutritious meals, and weekly field trips to local cultural institutions, supporting the holistic development and well-being of participating youth.
