2023-2026

Multi-year Grant:

Emergency Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence – Blackburn Center’s Emergency Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence program connects victims of intimate partner violence to resources, including immediate and safe shelter, food, and safety plan development. The program also helps individuals navigate public assistance programs as the first step in establishing financial security.

Legal and Medical Advocacy – Blackburn Center’s Legal and Medical Advocacy program accompanies victims through medical and legal proceedings. The program offers an immediate response to the trauma the victim has experienced, providing support, counseling and valuable information. The program also trains legal and medical professionals to improve their response to victims.

Outreach Program to Protect Older Adults from Abuse – Blackburn Center’s Outreach Program to Protect Older Adults from Abuse provides training to people and organizations that work with older adults regularly to improve their understanding of risk factors for elder abuse. The program also shows older adults how to recognize their risks and alert them about the availability of services.

Dating Violence, Sexual Abuse and Bullying Prevention Programs in Schools – Blackburn Center, through its Dating Violence, Sexual Abuse and Bullying Prevention Programs in Schools, presents to students and teachers about domestic/dating violence, sexual assault awareness/prevention, and cyberbullying/bullying awareness. The goal is to educate students on what abuse may look like and what they can do if abuse occurs.
