2024

Falk Facilities and Technology Improvement Fund 2024:

Jeremiah’s Place is western Pennsylvania’s only crisis nursery, providing safe, judgment-free emergency child care for children age 0–6 at no cost to parents and guardians. Open 24/7, Jeremiah’s Place offers critical support in times of stress, crisis or uncertainty to ensure that every child has a safe place to be cared for when families need it most. As part of its strategic decision to relocate the crisis nursery to the Wilkinsburg community, Jeremiah’s Place is creating a safe and engaging outdoor space for the children it serves.

This grant will fund a full playground set to give young children a place to play, grow and thrive while receiving care at western Pennsylvania’s only crisis nursery.

2023

Falk Facilities and Technology Improvement Fund 2023:

Jeremiah’s Place is Pittsburgh’s only 24-hour crisis nursery, providing emergency child care for families facing challenging or unpredictable situations. Offering a safe, secure and nurturing environment, Jeremiah’s Place serves as a vital support system, giving parents and caregivers a trusted option during times of crisis.

This grant supports the purchase of a washer, dryer, mini fridge and freezer for Jeremiah’s Place South, a new pilot location. These appliances will help provide daily meals and snacks at no cost to families. The mini fridge will store essential items such as breast milk within the child care space, while meals will be prepared in a nearby kitchenette and transported safely using a utility cart.
