2024

Welcome Back Summer:

Kid’s Innovation Playground provides affordable, high-quality and engaging STEAM programs for children in kindergarten through eighth grade across northern Butler County school districts, including Butler, Slippery Rock, Moniteau, Karns City and Armstrong Central Valley.

This grant helps support a variety of themed programs for different age groups and schedules. Each camp is led by a Pennsylvania-certified elementary or middle school teacher, supported by an assistant and limited to 10 children to ensure personalized attention. Thanks to this funding, all camps are provided free of charge.

2023

Welcome Back Summer:

Kid’s Innovation Playground (KiP) hosts various STEAM-themed camps for children, taught by a certified Pennsylvania teacher and assistant. Six camps will feature the award-winning Engineering is Elementary curriculum for two hours a day over three days and culminating in a showcase for families.

This grant supports free, small-group STEAM programming, including three Try-Day Friday camps focused on green screen video production using WEVIDEO software. It also funds family-inclusive Tech Tinkering nights held on Mondays throughout the summer.
