Welcome Back Summer:

The Will Allen Foundation (WAF) is dedicated to empowering young people through education, mentorship and character development programs that prepare them for lifelong success. At the request of the Clairton School District, the foundation developed the WAF Quest for Summer Success Camp.

This grant helps fund the WAF Summer Freshman Academy, which provides rising ninth graders in Clairton with the opportunity to take part in the Quest for Real Life Success program. Through this experience, students can earn a micro-certification in robotics, explore career pathways with visits to robotics companies and participate in social justice programming, equipping them with both practical skills and a strong sense of purpose as they transition into high school.

Welcome Back Summer:

The WAF Summer Freshmen Academy offers rising high school freshmen a head start through the WAF Quest for Real Life Success program. Students receive hands-on training in the electrical module of the CMU Robotics Academy curriculum, with the chance to earn their first micro-certification in robotics before starting high school.

This grant will fund a program that gives rising high school freshmen the opportunity to earn a micro-certification in robotics. It also supports educational visits to robotics companies and social justice programming, providing a well-rounded experience that combines technical skills with awareness and community engagement.
