Impact Grant:

YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Emergency Basic Needs Program – YWCA Greater Pittsburgh provides emergency financial assistance to women of color to address food and housing insecurity, financial crisis from utility bills, and destabilization from intimate partner violence by. YWCA works to confront the barriers created by systemic racism and provides families with nutritious food, secure housing and a supportive community while also promoting financial independence and economic stability.

YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Educational Opportunity Programs – YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Educational Opportunity Programs address the opportunity gap faced by students of color by making programs accessible and preparing students for post-secondary opportunities. YWCA works in and with school districts and community partner programs to provide direct programming or a train-the-trainer model.


2024

Falk Facilities and Technology Improvement Fund:

Mission-Aligned Accessibility Enhancement for Planned Homewood Education Center Bathroom Renovation – The YWCA used this funding to complete renovations to their lobby bathrooms, ensuring their space is fully accessible for the community. These upgrades included the installation of adult-size changing tables, sinks at child height, and other features that create a more inclusive environment. These improvements support the YWCA’s commitment to providing welcoming and accessible facilities for all.

Supporting Community Approaches to Transportation Access:

Resource Center: Supporting Increased Economic Mobility in Allegheny County Through Transportation – A transportation assistance program that helps individuals in new or emerging employment sustain work by providing grants for bus passes, gas cards, driver’s license renewals, and driving classes. The program aims to support economic advancement by addressing transportation barriers during the critical first three months of employment for eligible workers.

Welcome Back Summer:

YWCA Greater Pittsburgh Education Programs Summer Camp – Provides summer programming for PreK-rising 1st graders to prepare them for the next grade with interactive academic activities, field trips, and other forms of creative learning.
