A shopping trip at Dress for Success is a warm welcome to Pittsburgh

Leah and her mom, Dasha, recently immigrated from northern Russia. They were only able to bring the essentials with them on their journey and needed everyday clothing as well as clothes for job interviews. Since arriving in Pittsburgh a month ago, they have worked hard to acclimate to their new surroundings with the help of nonprofit Hello Neighbor. Leah and Dasha recently visited Dress for Success Pittsburgh for a joint styling session with a Russian-speaking volunteer provided by Hello Neighbor. Dress for Success provided a safe and comfortable space for Hello Neighbor’s clients’ first American clothes-shopping trip. Leah and Dasha arrived looking nervous and skeptical but left with arms full of bags, smiles on their faces and a warm welcome to their new home.
