Emergency Food Assistance

Due to the government shutdown, 300,000 households won’t get SNAP food assistance on Nov. 3. Legal appeals may delay benefits, causing widespread food insecurity. Give today to support emergency food assistance and our 211 contact center, which has seen dramatic upticks in calls for food.

What’s a recent volunteer experience that made you feel connected to your community?

“Recently, I volunteered at a meal kit packing event where community members worked together to pack 1,750 meal kits to go to local families. Not only did I feel connected to my community by directly helping to address hunger, but I also felt extremely connected to the other volunteers working hard to source and package up the kits. It was overwhelming to see how many people wanted to come together in the evening to help others.”
