Meal Kit Packing
As the holidays approach, many families in our region are facing growing food insecurity. The government shutdown delayed SNAP food assistance benefits for two weeks, and many families were forced to cut back on food until full benefits arrived. Over winter break, kids who rely on school breakfast and lunch are at risk of missing meals they’d normally get at school.
Volunteer at United Way’s Meal Kit Packing event to pack 3,000 meal kits for students in our community. Each kit will include breakfast and lunch items to ensure children have enough to eat while they are away from school over the holiday break.
